EWD's are one of our regions more social and outgoing species of Reptile.  Males are more prominent with their colouring and larger than females.  They grow up to half a metre long with rough scales and sharp spines.  Their strong personalities give them confidence around people and will often be found interacting.  Found usually near water sources, they live in backyards with pools, parklands, along creek & riverbeds and forests.  Its important to not feed these animals as they can become accustomed to approaching people for food and in some cases, have been severely injured or killed because of what's mistaken as aggressive behaviour by some people unaware of their behaviour tactics

Bearded Dragons are shy, harmless Lizards now only found in select suburban areas as their habitats are being destroyed and domestic pets culling their species.  Bearded Dragons can change colour quickly to blend in to their surroundings or to make themselves less appealing to predators. When threatened, a mature male changes the colour of his beard to black and puffs it up so that the spines appear rigid and his body looks bigger. He also opens his mouth, revealing a bright colour that surprises predators.  Their ideal dragons to have around for gardeners as they assist in controlling insects and other species instead of using Toxic pesticides on both plants and around the yard to deter unwanted plant eaters

Central Bearded Dragons are Sun worshippers often found basking during the day in and around warmer areas with high climates.  It has a low wide body shape, allowing it to hug surfaces when lying down. If walking however it walks with a high gate and can move with considerable speed.   The head is triangular in shape and can appear to have a striped pattern along the jaws.   Unlike the Eastern Bearded Dragon which is mostly grey, the Central Bearded Dragon can also be found in a variety of colours, including shades of red, brown and yellow. If a Central is found in our local suburbs its most likely an escaped Pet as their not endemic to Brisbane and Moreton Bay.  Please call A1 so we can identify and organise a rescue.
